Time to flag off.

Pastor Martin Ssempa flags off the fialists.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1 says. Sometimes, when that time comes, it really becomes hard to know how and why it comes. Sunday, was time to flag off the final year students who are finishing their studies as this academic year ends. Being a university-based community church, we always have to release some of our members who have to join other communities. Church was praying for the finalists and sending the off with its blessings-the blessings of joy and to the perfect plan of God. Pastor Martin Ssempa also prayed for the courage to over come fear, courage for moving from level to level, courage to take on the world, a darker place that needs light. The finalists are indeed the light on to the world. They have to carry their candles on to the darkness and light up the world. From Jeremiah 29:11, the promises of God were spoken on to them, the plans for a hope, a future and for prosperity. In lineage with the church mission-mentoring global leaders, the leaders were released, and let their fruit be projected to the nations.
When concluding, a challenge was put before the finalists. We perfectly know that we are part of the body of Christ. But as the praise and worship team sang, if we are the body, why is everything the way it is? Why aren’t His arms touching? The challenge is that, if you are God’s mouth piece-speak, if you are the feet-walk, if you are the eyes-see… but make sure that you put to use what God has given you, play your part in the body of Christ and everything shall change for the better.

Pastor Ssempa preached the sermon from 2 kings 3:26-27. This was a time when the king of Moab was trying to break through the lines of the king of Edom but when the military strategy failed he tried the non military means-he sacrificed his first born son. The bible says in verse 27 that “The fury against Israel was great; they withdrew and returned to their own land.” Why were the Israelites defeated? Some commentaries have come up with different theories. Some say that when the king of Moab killed his son, the Israelites were disgusted and just walked off. There is something that these people do not understand. There is power in human sacrifice in the worship of the kingdom of the devil. Can it be that God’s people can be attacked by satan’s fury? Isaiah 14:3-4 shows that there is a war between God’s kingdom and the devil.
There is a time when satan increases his power and God’s children too need to increase power. We must start to realize satan’s plans to put us down. Human sacrifice is used by satan to reinforce against God’s children. According to bill schnoebelen, ‘satanists believe that when you sacrifice a human being, there is a huge amount of energy that is released.’ They also practice sexual rituals on young virgin girls and too practice sodomy on young kids. Sodomy not only affects the kids mentally, but also opens up the doors for demonic attacks. Many of the politicians and big business people do drink human blood.
However, whereas satan wants the blood of the firstborns, God gave His first born as a sacrifice that He has already shed blood for you. The release of the power of the firstborn of God is so great. Our battle is not against fresh and blood and that’s why we need to speak the blood of Jesus over all our situations. Our victory is in the name of Jesus, in the blood of Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus. We are indeed victorious.
After service, 15 people got baptized at the university’s swimming pool, joining the body of Christ as we wait upon the Lord in this 777 season. God bless you.
